How to use the Jolt custom rating item type

Learn how to create & use custom rating item types for scoring scales, employee evaluations, and quality assessments. Users can quickly use this for food safety and temperature checklists. User must be a company admin or content group admin to edit lists.

Setting up a custom rating item type

  1. Log in to the Jolt web app and navigate to lists > edit lists.

  2. On the next screen, create a new list or select an existing list.

  3. Click the blue plus sign and select new item.

  4. A modal window will appear where you will need to select rating (custom).
    ​

  5. Add your prompt text then navigate to the sharing options to set the minimum and maximum values (this affects the number of options displayed in the Jolt mobile app).
    ​

  6. Go through your list items that will use the custom rating item type and assign the display criteria.

  7. Once you are done customizing, click save to apply changes.

Using a custom rating item type in the Jolt mobile app

Example: Food safety checklist for grill items.

Let's say you have 10 measurement items for burger patties, but only need to measure the temperature for 3 during the current run.

  1. Log in to the Jolt mobile app and navigate to lists. This is where you can find item types.

  2. Use the custom rating item type to modify the list and select 3 as the run size (the list automatically displays 3 temperature items instead of all 10).

  3. Complete the steps on the screen to finish the task.
