Configuring & recording data from Jolt sensors in lists

Learn how to configure & record data from Bluetooth and LoRaWAN sensors in Jolt lists for automated temperature logging during checklist completion. Ensure you have an active sensor and gateway configured in Jolt and that you can see regular readings.

Setting up a list with a sensor item

  1. Log into the Jolt web app and navigate to sensors > dashboard.

  2. Find the sensor and notate the name.

  3. Navigate back to the menu and click on lists > edit lists.

  4. On this screen, select the list you want to add the sensor item to.

  5. Add a measurement item to the list.

  6. Scroll down to available input methods, select the sensor option, then select the sensor name from the dropdown.

  7. Click save to apply changes.


Recording a sensor reading in a list

  1. After completing the steps above, navigate to the configured list in the Jolt mobile app. The sensor item will display the sensor input method icon.

  2. Tap the record button to fetch the latest sensor reading. Once recorded, the item will display the temperature and is marked complete.

  3. Tap the input method icon to switch between sensor, probe, and manual input methods as needed.


FAQ

What do I do if the sensor is offline?

You will see that the record button is disabled if the sensor is offline or unavailable. Switch to another input method to record the temperature.

Why can't I enter a manual reading?

Only device admins can enter readings manually when manual input is not an available option.
