Installing the gateway
Attach two small antennas into each of the two 2.4/5 GHz ports of the gateway. Screw the large antenna into the 868 MHz 900 MHz port.
Plug a power cord into the front of the gateway, then plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
Next, plug the ethernet cable into its port on the front of the gateway.
Plug the ethernet cable into your router or network switch.
Verify your gateway is set up by checking the lights on top. The power and LoRa lights should be illuminated and solid. The ethernet light should be illuminated, flashing periodically.
Note: Ensure the antennas are pointing either directly up toward the sky or down toward the ground.
Connecting the gateway to Jolt
To set up your gateway, ensure it is placed in an optimal location to maximize sensor coverage. Additionally, connect the gateway to your LAN using a wired connection.
Make sure you are logged in to the Jolt mobile app and that your user profile has at least one of the following permissions:
Device admin
Location website admin
Company admin
Content group admin
Also make sure that your network settings allow the gateway to communicate with Jolt servers. Consult your IT team if you need assistance.
In the Jolt mobile app, navigate to the side menu and select sensors.
Tap get started and select the users you want to assign as sensor admins.
Tap save to apply changes.
On the sensors overview screen, tap setup a gateway button or tap the plus sign button in the upper right corner, then select setup gateway.
Select LoRaWAN as the gateway connection type and assign a name to the gateway (we suggest using the store name and/or number).
Tap the barcode in the ID field to bring up the camera.
Flip over the gateway and scan the QR code located in the lower left corner of the label. The camera will scan it and automatically record the gateway's DevEUI address.
Save the gateway connection and wait 5-10 minutes to ensure the gateway has connected to Jolt. If the gateway has not connected after 10 minutes, you may need to troubleshoot the connection.
Note: You will not be able to add sensors until the gateway is connected to Jolt.
