Troubleshooting steps
Check the gateway status by verifying the LoRa (red light) indicators, the power (green light), or Ethernet (amber light) indicators are illuminated.
For the blue Laird gateway, verify that it has three lights: a green power light, a yellow Ethernet light, and a red LoRa light.
Ensure the Ethernet port's indicator lights are flashing or illuminated.
Confirm the power cable is plugged in and the network cable is connected to a working port.
Ensure your network is connected to the internet and that the gateway is in the correct port.
If using a firewall, confirm that WebSockets ports 80 and 443 are whitelisted on your firewall inbound and outbound to/from *.jolt.com. Contact your network administrator or internet provider for assistance.
Restart the gateway by disconnecting the power adapter from the gateway, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect it (do not press the reset button).
Alternatively, unplug the Ethernet cord, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. Wait 20-30 minutes to see if the gateway reconnects to the Jolt servers.
Wait 5-10 minutes to see if the gateway reconnects to Jolt.
Log in to the Jolt mobile app as a user with sensor admin permissions.
Remove and re-add the gateway through the Jolt mobile app by location the gateway, selecting it, and tapping the kebab menu in the upper-right corner.
Select deactivate.
Next, tap the plus sign, select setup gateway, and follow the instructions to re-add the gateway.
Scan the QR code on the gateway during the setup process to ensure proper registration.
Wait about 10 minutes to check if the gateway reconnects.
In the Jolt mobile app, tap on the gateway to confirm it shows a recent reading (less than 5 minutes old).
Open and close the app to ensure it is syncing and up-to-date.
If you’ve tried all the above steps and the gateway still isn’t connecting, reach out to Jolt support team for further assistance.
Managing sensor battery life
JRB 004 and JRB 301: Remove the battery.
Note: JRB 004 sensors with firmware version 2.4 and later are protected against battery drain from gateway disconnections.
L01 and LRTD01: Remove the batteries.
DLHT65: Press the ACT button 5 times rapidly until you see a long red light indicating sleep mode.
Note: Do not reactivate sensors until the gateway is online and sending readings to Jolt.
Important Reminder: Ensure sensors are not activated when the gateway is offline to prevent rapid battery drain. Follow the sleep mode instructions as described above.
FAQ
Should I check for firmware updates?
