Overview
Asset templates can be created at the content group level so all locations use the same template. This ensures that every location is tracking the same information for each asset.
Once you create a template, add assets to each location and assign them to work orders. You can create as many templates as you need based on your business needs.
How to create an asset template
Log in to the Jolt web app and make sure you are in content group mode.
Navigate to the menu and select work orders > asset management.
Click the blue plus sign in the bottom right corner.
A modal window will appear. Name the template then click continue.
Click the add item button on the left.
Another modal window will appear. Select one of the item types.
Add an item for each piece of information you want to track on your assets. For example, you can add a text item for manufacturer or model. If you have a person in charge of assets, you can add a person item from a list of users in Jolt when the asset is entered.
Important: Jolt will prompt users to give the asset a unique name when it is added to Jolt. So you don’t have to add an item for the asset name. The name is how the asset is identified in the UI so it must be unique so everyone knows which asset they are viewing.
If you no longer need an asset template, select the kebab menu on the template list page and click deactivate.
To reactivate a template, click the inactive button at the top of the screen to switch views, then select the kebab menu by the template you want to reactivate and click reactivate.
