Jolt Print Station (JPS) setup guide

This guide will walk you through setting up your Jolt Print Station (JPS). Before you begin, please ensure you are connected to a wireless network (required for the Jolt mobile app). If you don't know which network to select, contact your IT department.

Setting up your printer(s)

  1. Remove the JPS from its packaging, then connect to power by plugging the power cord into a nearby outlet.

  2. Loosen the wing nut(s) on the display stand (if applicable) and raise the display until it is upright.

  3. Tighten the wing nut(s) to keep the display in place.
    ​

  4. Power on the JPS printer(s) by pressing the power button. The orange status light will turn on. Within 30 seconds, the light will turn green.

  5. Load labels in the printers by sliding the tabs on each side of the printer forward. This will unlock and open the lid, and the printer will automatically go into a "paused" status.

  6. Inside the printer, locate the yellow label holders and pull them apart.

  7. Place a roll of labels between those holders.

  8. Feed the end of the roll of labels under the yellow guides, stickers facing up, onto the roller at the front of the printer. Make sure the roll of labels can spin freely.

  9. Close the lid and press the pause button to remove the "paused" status from the printer.
    ​

Note: Sometimes printers will feed a label or two out of the front when the lid is closed. This is expected behavior and will align the labels so they are ready for future prints.

Setting up the Jolt mobile app

  1. Turn on the JPS display by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds. The power button is located on the bottom of the display next to the larger volume button.

  2. On the display, swipe down rapidly at the top of the screen (2 times). This will display the options menu.
    ​

  3. Press and hold the WiFi icon to navigate to network settings.
    ​

  4. Select your wireless network, enter the credentials, and tap connect.

  5. If you see the sign-in screen, connect the JPS to your Jolt account (otherwise, skip this step).
    ​

  6. If you are a Jolt admin, you can sign in with your credentials. If you are a non-admin, you can connect to a location in Jolt. Follow the steps on your screen to scan a location QR code (the JPS display has a built-in camera on the back side).

  7. If prompted, select the location that matches where your team will use the JPS. To allow all team members to print labels from the JPS, select multi user device.

  8. Tap continue then start download to download the required account and labeling information to your JPS.

  9. On the Jolt mobile app, navigate to the menu > labels.

  10. On the next screen, you will be prompted to add a printer. Tap add printer to continue.

  11. If this is your first time using the Jolt mobile app, you may be prompted to allow Jolt to find local networks. Make sure you tap allow to continue with the setup.

  12. Select a printer from the list then tap continue.

  13. On the left side of the screen, tap labels then select the corresponding label size.

  14. If prompted, tap run calibration to align the print area to the labels.
    ​

  15. Tap test alignment at the bottom of the screen to print a test label and adjust the settings if necessary. Once you are done, exit the printer settings. Your JPS should now be configured and ready for printing.
