Setting up geofencing for Jolt lists

Learn how to set up geofencing for Jolt lists to restrict checklist completion to specific physical locations using GPS boundaries on mobile devices. This ensures that users complete lists on the mobile app within a specified, physical boundary.

Prequisites

  • Geofencing only works on single-user devices and is not supported on multi-user (shared) devices.

  • Ensure location services are enabled on the Jolt mobile app. If location services are off or inaccurate, users won't be able to access lists. You can enable location services on your device's system settings.

  • Ensure you have strong internet connectivity. Poor connectivity can affect location accuracy. Use WiFi if possible and consider enlarging the geofence if accuracy issues occur.

Instructions

  1. Log in to the Jolt web app and navigate to settings > locations.

  2. Click on the name of the location where you want to set up geofencing.

  3. Go to the access on personal devices section and change the setting to allow access with geofence.

  4. You should see a map below this. Use the buttons to zoom in/out to find your business, then click once to set the default geofence. You can adjust by dragging the circle.

  5. Click save in the upper right corner to apply changes.

  6. Once the geofence syncs to the device, users will only be able to access the lists module if they are within the geofence.
