Shift drop & pickup requests allow employees to manage their shifts when they face scheduling conflicts. Employees can submit a request to drop a shift they can't work, and other employees can request to pick up the dropped shift.
Managers must approve these pickup requests.
How to submit a shift drop request
Log in to the Jolt mobile app, navigate to the menu, and select schedule. This will take you to the schedule dashboard.
Find the shift you want to drop. You can select next shifts or view all shifts.
Tap the shift to open its details.
In the shift details page, tap the kebab menu (three dots) in the top-right corner and select drop shift.
Enter a reason for dropping the shift and tap submit.
You will remain responsible for the shift until another employee requests to pick it up and a manager approves it.
After submitting, you can view the details and cancel the drop request if needed.
How to pick up a dropped shift
Log in to the Jolt mobile app, navigate to the menu, and select schedule. This will take you to the schedule dashboard.
Navigate to pickups. This section will display shifts that have been dropped by other employees.
Find the shift you are interested in and tap request pickup (make sure the shift does not conflict with your schedule).
Your pickup request will need to be approved by a scheduling manager before it appears on your schedule.
