Troubleshooting JPS display charging issues

If the Jolt Print Station (JPS) display is not charging, you will need to do an inspection. Learn how to perform power cable checks, charging port checks, battery diagnostics, and more.

Note: It's important to complete these steps in the correct order.

  1. The printers should be powered on and USB cables should be plugged into the physical unit as well as an outlet. Please inspect those for damage before continuing.

  2. The JPS unit should be plugged in to a power strip or surge protector. Make sure the power cable is fully plugged into the wall outlet or power strip and receiving power.

  3. New JPS units may have a detachable power cable. Please ensure the power cable is inserted properly and free from any damage or debris.

  4. Verify that the tablet is charging (the battery icon should display a lightning bolt).

  5. You can view the icon by swiping down twice from the top of the screen.

  6. If the JPS is still not charging, manually power it off by holding the power button.

  7. Next, power off the tablet by holding the power button for a few seconds. You'll see a prompt to turn off/restart. Select power off.

  8. Once the tablet is powered off, unplug the JPS power cable from the power outlet.

  9. Wait 30-40 seconds to allow everything to reset.

  10. Plug the JPS back into the power source.

  11. Power on the tablet and launch the Jolt mobile app.

  12. Turn the printer back on by pressing the power button. The light will turn orange or red. Wait another moment for the light to turn green (this may take a moment).

  13. You may be prompted to connect to the new device(s). Follow the prompts on screen to finish the setup.
