How to use maintenance mode in the SmartSense mobile app
Maintenance Mode allows you to temporarily silence alarms, and, with mobile optimization, you can manage alarms while on the move to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Only users with Super Administrator, Administrator, and Responder+ roles can manage Maintenance Mode (activate, deactivate, or edit) on the Mobile App.

To access Maintenance Mode from your mobile device:
- Log in to the SmartSense Mobile App and select the desired Location.
- You will now be on the Home screen. Tap on the Assets & Sensors tile.
- Select the desired Asset from the list.
- On the Details tab, you will see Maintenance Mode. By default, Maintenance Mode will be turned off, but tapping the toggle button will turn it on.
- When Maintenance Mode is on, the section will expand.
How to Activate Maintenance Mode
After tapping the Maintenance Mode toggle button to turn on the feature, you will need to fill out the following fields:
- Reason: The purpose for activating Maintenance Mode on the asset. The character limit for this field is 150.
- Start Date & Time: When Maintenance Mode should begin. You cannot enter a date or time that is in the past.
- End Date & Time: When Maintenance Mode should end. You cannot enter a date or time that is before the Start Date & Time.
The date and time is based on the time zone configuration of your mobile device.
Click Save to apply changes and activate Maintenance Mode. A confirmation banner will appear at the top of the screen and you will be unable to edit the Start Date & Time.
How to Edit Maintenance Mode
Only users with Super Administrator, Administrator, and Responder + roles can edit Maintenance Mode.
To edit Maintenance Mode on an asset, follow the steps above as if you are activating Maintenance Mode.
- Update the Reason field by modifying the name.
- Update the End Date & Time (Start Date & Time will be disabled during editing).
- Tap the Save button to apply changes.
- A confirmation banner will appear at the top of the screen and you will be unable to edit the Start Date & Time.
If you do not save changes and try leaving the page, a modal window will appear, warning you that changes will be discarded.
How to Deactivate Maintenance Mode
On the Asset Details screen, locate the Maintenance Mode toggle button and tap the button to turn it off. A modal window will appear, confirming that you wish to complete this action.
Tap Turn Off to deactivate Maintenance Mode. When Maintenance Mode is off, the section will collapse.
