B Gateway Transportation - Reefer Installation
Tutorial to walk you through gateway installation in a reefer environment.
When installing your gateway, you can install it on the outside of your trailer or on the inside of the reefer box. If you install it on the outside of your reefer unit, we recommend at least six feet up on the driver's side, if possible.
- Find a spot within the reefer cabinet that fits the gateway without interfering with the control box, truck gears, wires, or any other mechanisms.
- Once the gateway is in place, screw it into place using at least four 3-quarter-inch self-tapping screws.
- Thread the power harness cable through the reefer cabinet until you reach the battery.
- Zip-tie the harness multiple times to ensure the cables don't become loose.
- Be sure to clip off the end of the zip ties before moving on.
- Once the power harness is secured in place, remove the nut from the negative port on the battery and remove the negative wire for technician safety.
- Remove the nut from the positive port on the battery and place the positive wire crimp on the top of the battery's positive wire.
- Reattach the nut.
- Place the negative wire crimp on top of the battery's negative wire.
- Reattach the nut.
- Your gateway should now have power.
- Confirm the lights are blinking.
