How to Apply Blackout Ranges to Your Lists in Jolt

How to Apply Blackout Ranges to Your Lists in Jolt

Blackout Ranges allow you to prevent specific lists from appearing on holidays or days when your location is closed. You can set these ranges for either a company-wide or a location-specific basis. Blackout ranges are configured by month and day, and they automatically recur on the same date in subsequent years unless modified or deleted. This feature is particularly useful for managing recurring closures, such as annual holidays.

Prerequisites

To set up Blackout Ranges, you need access to the Jolt Web Portal with appropriate administrative privileges.

Instructions

1. Accessing Blackout Ranges

  • For Company-Wide Settings:

    • Login to the Jolt Web Portal.

    • Navigate to Settings > Company. This option sets blackout ranges for all locations within your company.

  • For Location-Specific Settings:

    • Login to the Jolt Web Portal.

    • Go to Settings > Locations.

    • Select the specific location where you want to apply blackout ranges. This will override the company-wide settings for this location only.

2. Adding a Blackout Range

  • Step 1: In the top right corner of the column, click +Range to add a new blackout range.

  • Step 2: Use the drop-down menus to select the day and month for the blackout range.

  • Step 3: Click Save in the top right corner to apply your changes.

Modifying or Deleting a Blackout Range

  • Step 1: Navigate to the blackout range you wish to modify or delete.

  • Step 2: To modify, adjust the date using the drop-down menus and click Save. To delete, click the Delete button next to the blackout range.

  • Step 3: Publish the changes to ensure they take effect.

Notes

  • Company Settings will apply the blackout range to all locations under the company.

  • Location Settings will override the company settings and apply only to the selected location.

  • Blackout ranges directly affect list visibility. Lists scheduled for blackout dates will not appear unless the blackout range is deleted and changes are published.

  • Once a blackout range is deleted, no additional steps are required to make the lists visible again. Simply ensure that the changes are published.
