Web App: How to Configure SmartClose
SmartClose is an AI-powered tool that automatically resolves and closes unused temperature alarms to reduce alarm fatigue and improve efficiency.
Only users with Super Administrator or Administrator roles can configure SmartClose, but all other users can see if the alarm is being monitored by SmartClose.
Assign SmartClose to a Temperature Alarm
- Log in to the web app using a Super Admin or Admin account.
- Click on the ASSETS tab then select the ASSET NAME to open the Asset Details page.
- Scroll down to the ALARMS CONFIGURED section and select + NEW ALARM in the right corner or click on the PENCIL ICON in the Alarm card to edit an existing alarm.
- On the next page, make sure the required fields are filled out (anything marked with a red asterisk). If this is your first time creating a temperature alarm, please refer to this article.
-
Under the ALARM SETTINGS, make sure you select the TEMPERATURE option from the ALARM TYPE dropdown. SmartClose is only available for temperature alarms.
NOTE: SmartClose will only appear under Additional Settings after selecting the Temperature alarm type.
- In the SEVERITY field, select HIGH or HIGHEST to ensure any incidents created from this alarm appear on your Dashboard.
- Under NOTIFICATION SETTINGS, the DELAY INTERVAL must be set to one or greater.
- Fill out the rest of the fields until you reach ADDITIONAL SETTINGS. In this section, you will find the SmartClose settings. Select the checkbox next to SMARTCLOSE to enable this feature.
- After completing all fields, click the SAVE button in the bottom right corner.
- You will be redirected to the Asset Details screen.
View Alarms with SmartClose
- On the Asset Details page, scroll down to the ALARMS CONFIGURED section. Here you can easily identify alarms configured with SmartClose:
a) The SmartClose icon will appear in the upper left corner of the alarm when displayed as a CARD.
b) The SmartClose icon will appear in the SmartClose column of the alarm when displayed as a LIST.
- If the alarm is valid, the alarm will trigger, an incident will open, and the user assigned to the alarm will receive a notification. Otherwise, SmartClose will automatically silence and resolve the alarm.
- On the Incident, the Incident History will show SmartClose has resolved the alarm and closed the incident, and no further action will need to be taken.
