Access visual guide (task guidance) in the SmartSense mobile app

Learn how to add visual media to Tasks and Checklists. Once a Super Administrator user has added the media through the web app, responders can access the media in the mobile app. 

Visual Guide will be shown for any Task or Food Item with visual media attached; Visual Guide will NOT be shown for a task without visual media attached.  

The web app task guidance article will show you how to set up this feature if you are user with Super Admin permissions.

Access Visual Guide from Food Safety

1. On the home screen, select the Food Safety tile.
   
   
2. Select a food safety step and follow the prompts on the screen until you finish selecting the food item.
3. You will see Visual Guide appear above the Take Temperature button.  
   
   
    
4. Tap on Visual Guide to open the media and view it on your screen.
   
   
    
5. You will see an option to Download the image. After tapping the blue button, the image will download and a banner will appear at the top of the screen saying that the download was successful. You can find the media in your device’s photos app.

Access Visual Guide from Quick Actions

1. On the home screen, select the QUICK ACTIONS tile.
   
   
2. Scroll down on the next screen until you see General Tasks. Here you can click on Visual Guide.
3. You will see an option to Download the image. After tapping the blue button, the image will download and a banner will appear at the top of the screen saying that the download was successful. You can find the media in your device’s photos app.

Access Visual Guide from Scheduled Checklists

1. On the home screen, select the Scheduled Checklists tile.
   
   
    
2. Scroll down on the next screen until you locate the task with the Visual Guide. Tap to view.

3. You will see an option to Download the image. After tapping the blue button, the image will download and a banner will appear at the top of the screen saying that the download was successful. You can find the media in your device’s photos app. 
    

   NOTE: If you enter and submit a comment before viewing the visual guide, the task status will change to COMPLETE and you will be unable to view the visual guide.
