How to set up label prep templates in the Jolt web app

Label prep templates help you manage printed labels based on your inventory and expected sales. This ensures you print the right number of labels per day. Label prep is only available at the location level.

Prerequisites

  1. Ensure you have created labels and categories before you begin.

  2. Make sure you know how to sort labels in label prep.

Instructions

  1. Log in to the Jolt web app and navigate to labeling > label prep.

  2. Select the label prep tab and open an existing template (make sure you select a location as label prep is location-specific).

  3. Click new label prep and name your template based on the type of prep needed for the day (e.g., weekday prep or holiday prep).

  4. Click next to continue.

  5. Search for or select the labels you want to use for the prep list, then click next.

  6. Next, you will need to create a prep formula for each label. The formula includes four fields:

    • Sales: Specify how many labels to prepare based on expected sales (e.g., "For every $50 in sales, prepare 10 trays of cookies").

    • Amount (# of units): Enter the number of units needed based on the sales formula.

    • Unit name: Specify the unit of measurement for this label (e.g., bags, pounds, trays, plates, etc.).

    • Minimum (min units): Set the minimum number of items that should be available, regardless of sales.

  7. After adding all necessary data, click create label prep.

  8. Label prep lists will appear on the main label prep page.

  9. Use filters to view different templates and sort by active or inactive lists.

  10. Clicking on a label prep list will allow you to edit formulas, add or remove labels, or deactivate the prep template if no longer needed.
