Use the pH probe to capture the pH measurement in the mobile app

pH Probes behave a little differently than SmartSense temperature probes. When connected to the mobile app, Temperature Probes continuously take temperatures. pH Probes require you to manually select pH reading to capture results.

SmartSense has partnered with a third-party vendor, Hanna Instruments, to provide pH probe support in the mobile app on version 1.44.0 or later. You can:

  1. Use a Bluetooth pH probe from Hanna Instruments to capture the rice pH to maintain sushi quality in the SmartSense mobile app.

  2. Capture pH value manually in the SmartSense mobile app by entering the value from the digital display for Food Items.

On the mobile app, pH scale readings can be captured under the food safety tile for the following food types:

  • Cold Holding

  • Cooking

  • Hot Holding

  • Preparing

  • Receiving

  • Serving

  • Storing

  • Time-Based Holding

Note: Any pH scale Food Item will be filtered out from the mobile app for version 1.43.0 or older. Other pH probes will not be supported.
