Using Jolt label tags to control label category visibility

Using label tags to control which label categories are visible at specific locations provides a flexible way to manage label visibility across multiple locations.

Multi-location accounts often need to standardize shared label content while accounting for differences between locations. Although you can manually deactivate individual categories or labels for a location, this becomes tedious when only a few locations need certain labels. Common scenarios include:

  • Different store layouts or menus that require unique labeling needs

  • Product tests or Limited Time Offers (LTOs) running only in select locations

Label tags solve this problem by giving you control over label category visibility, reducing clutter for end users, and speeding up the labeling workflow.

Who can use label tags?

Label tags are available to company admins, content group admins, and location admins. These users can create label tags, and apply tags to label categories and/or locations.

If a category has no tags, it will be visible within all locations it falls under. Once tags are applied, only locations with at least one matching tag will see that category in the mobile app.

Creating label tags

  1. Log in to the Jolt web app and navigate to settings > tags.

  2. Click the blue plus sign in the bottom right corner to add a new tag, then choos a name, color, and icon to help you identify the tag.

Assigning tags to locations

  1. Navigate to settings > locations.

  2. On this page, select the location you want to update by clicking anywhere in the row.

  3. In the info section, add your tags.

  4. Click save in the upper-right corner to apply changes.

Applying tags to label categories

  1. Navigate to labeling > label categories.

  2. On this page, click new category (or select an existing category).

  3. In the category details page, use the dropdown menu to select tags.

Note: Only locations sharing at least one tag with the category will see it in the Jolt mobile app.
