Getting Started with the Jolt App (For Employees)

Getting started guide for employees new to the Jolt app. Covers logging in, navigating the home screen, completing lists, using time clock, viewing schedules, and accessing the Information Library.

Overview

The Jolt App helps employees complete tasks, view schedules, and track work efficiently. This guide walks you through setting up the app on your personal or shared work device so you can get started quickly.

Download & Install

  • Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).

  • Search for "Jolt", look for the green and blue lightning bolt, and download it.

  • Open the app after installation.

Logging In

On the login screen, you have two options:

Use your email and password to log in, then choose between Personal Device Mode (stays logged in) or Shared Device Mode (requires a 4-digit PIN for access).

This method is ideal for single-user devices where the app remains signed in to one user. For shared devices, consider using the Shared Device Mode, which allows multiple users to log in and out conveniently using QR codes or PINs.

Connect to a Location

Personal Device Login is used for single-user devices and does not involve QR codes, while Shared Device Login is designed for shared devices and supports QR code access.

QR code login is the primary method for connecting a device to a location in Shared Device mode. Here's how to connect your device:

If scanning the QR code is not possible, you can use the Manual Entry option to input the location code displayed with the QR code. These codes are case-insensitive for ease of use.

Open the Jolt app and go to Settings → Locations, then tap the + button.

Select "Connect to a Location."

Select "Scan QR Code" — the camera will open.

Scan the location's QR code to connect the device.

If you are unable to scan, tap "Manual Entry" in the bottom-right corner and enter the location code directly.

Troubleshooting QR Code Login

If the QR code has already been used, you can still connect your device by selecting Manual Entry and entering the location code provided by your store. Ensure the device camera is functioning properly for scanning, or use the manual method as a fallback.

Best Practices for Login Methods

  • For personal use, opt for the Personal Device mode and log in with your email and password to ensure automatic sign-ins.

  • In shared environments, leverage QR codes for convenient switching between accounts or multiple user access. Always log out properly in Shared Device Mode to maintain security and privacy.

  • If QR code login issues arise, use the Manual Entry option or check the device camera functionality. For shared devices, ensure proper logout to maintain security.

Basic Navigation

To navigate the Jolt App, tap the three-line menu icon in the top left corner. This opens the main menu, where you can access different sections based on your role and account setup.
