How to use announcements in the SmartSense mobile app

Announcements are email-style communications from your company with important information about your Location or Department. Announcements are configured by a super admin or admin user on the Web App.

To access Announcements on the mobile app:

  1. Log in to the SmartSense mobile app.

  2. Select your location.

  3. Click the announcements tile on the Home Screen.

  4. For new Announcements that are unread, you will see a blue banner if your admin has enabled the banner option. The blue banner can also expire or be hidden even if an Announcement has not been read.

  5. The banner will have a read button that you can click to open the announcement.

  6. To view Announcement Details:

    1. Tap on the announcements tile.

    2. New announcements will appear on the next screen.

  7. All Announcements will display as a list of cards with the following details:

    • Blue dot – indicates Announcement has not been opened (unread announcement)

    • Subject

    • Receive Time

    • User who sent announcement

    • Message

    • View more link – this link will display more information on a separate page and will change the status of the Announcement to "Read." Clicking on the link will open a new page in your web browser.

  8. When an announcement needs to be acknowledged, the acknowledgment required tag will appear under the Announcements tile.

  9. To acknowledge the Announcement, tap the acknowledge button. This will change the tag to acknowledged.
