TempAlert: Configuring Wireless Sensor Settings

  1. Login to the Insights Dashboard
  2. Scroll down to the Sensor Information section and click Edit
    • By default, each sensor is named New Sensor, so the best practice is to rename the sensor based on what you will be monitoring
  3. A numerical value can be added to the Reading Offset to adjust the sensor temperature readings if you know readings are being influenced incorrectly
  4. To add specific tags to sensors, the Tags field will enable you to do this (for more detailed information on Tags, click here)
    • It also enables easier searching and group alert setup
  5. For Expected Min and Expected Max, simply adjust the minimum and maximum ranges of the dials in the Device Dials view
  6. Underneath the sensor settings are the last ten readings for the sensor, which can be exported
    • To export, type in a start date, end date, and time to export for readings, and click Export
    • An Excel file that includes all sensor readings during the selected time period downloads to your desktop
  7. The chart with plotted temperature readings resides to the right of the sensor readings
  8. The chart defaults to one day of readings, but you can zoom out to longer periods of time
  9. For periods of time longer than three days, the chart may display sampled data from your readings
  10. For the selected time period, the minimum and maximum readings, as well as the period average, are listed under the chart
