How to Replace a Sensor, Update a Port, or Modify a Device ID

This tutorial shows you how to switch one device ID to another during sensor replacement as well as how to switch ports and modify sensor IDs.

How to Replace Device IDs During Sensor Replacement

Click on the ASSETS tab then select the ASSET you would like to edit.
Scroll down to the SENSORS section, click on the ELLIPSIS (three dots) to the right, then select EDIT SENSOR.
A modal window will appear on your screen. Click on the DEVICE ID field and select a new ID.
Select the PORT field, choose an available port, and select SAVE.
A modal window will appear to verify that all changes are correct. Select YES to apply changes.

Click on the ASSETS tab then select the ASSET you would like to edit.
Scroll down to the SENSORS section, click on the ELLIPSIS (three dots) to the right, then select EDIT SENSOR.
Select the DEVICE ID field, choose UNASSIGN, and click SAVE.
A modal window will appear to verify that all changes are correct. Select YES to apply changes.
Select the ELLIPSIS and click EDIT SENSOR (same as step 2).
Select the same DEVICE ID as before, choose a new port from the PORT field, and click SAVE.

Click on the ADMIN TAB then select ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT.
Under HIERARCHY, expand the locations until you find the ASSET you would like to edit.
Select the ELLIPSIS (three dots) to the right of the asset and select EDIT ASSET.
Scroll down to the SENSORS section, locate the SENSOR you no longer need, click on the ELLIPSIS, then select EDIT SENSOR.
A modal window will appear. Select the DEVICE ID field, choose UNASSIGN from the list, then click SAVE.
A modal window will appear to verify that all changes are correct. Select YES to apply changes.
Click ADD NEW SENSOR.
Choose a NAME, DEVICE ID, READING TYPE, and PORT for the new sensor, then click SAVE.
Click SAVE INSTANCE in the bottom right corner to apply changes.
