WiFi: Setting Up / Changing Network Settings
Overview
This guide provides a walkthrough on how to change the Network Settings between both a LAN and WiFi connection. In order to make this change users will need to access the Developer Mode Console (10.99.99.1) on the WiFi device.
Steps
1. Connect the WiFi device to your computer with an ethernet cable via the PC port on the device, and access the Developer Mode Console (10.99.99.1).
2. After successfully accessing the console, navigate to and click on the "Connection Settings" tab. If prompted for login credentials, enter admin as the username and password as the password in order to gain access to the page.
WiFi to Lan/Ethernet
1. When changing your device from a WiFi connection to a wired LAN connection, ensure that the device has an additional ethernet cable plugged into the "Internet" port on the device. This ethernet cable should connect to your router/modem.
2. On the "Connection Settings" console tab, click on the drop-down box listed in the "Connect to Internet Via" field and select the "Ethernet" option.
3. After selecting Ethernet, your field of options should change.
4. In the "Obtain WAN IP Via" field users should make sure DHCP is selected, and then click "Save Settings" which will cause the device to reset and reconfigure.
5. If you are looking to set up the device with a Static IP address, in the drop-down box under the "Obtain WAN IP Via" field select "Use Static IP".
6. In order to configure the Static IP for the device, users should contact their Network Administrator to inquire about the remaining open fields. Once the information is entered, click save and the device will reset and connect to the network.
LAN/Ethernet to WiFi
1. In the "Connection Settings" console tab, click on the drop-down box listed in the "Connect to Internet Via" field and select the "WiFi" option.
2. After selecting WiFi, your field of options should change.
3. In order to find your WiFi network, click on the scan button and select the correct network from the list. Once the network is selected, the device should recognize the "Encryption type" and fill in the field for you.
4. Enter the login password for your WiFi network. After this, make sure that DHCP is selected, then click "Save Settings" which will cause the device to reset and reconfigure.
5. If you are looking to set up the device with a Static IP address, in the drop-down box under the "Obtain WAN IP Via" field select "Use Static IP."
6. In order to configure the Static IP for the device, users should contact their Network Administrator to inquire about the remaining open fields. Once the information is entered, click save and the device will reset and connect to the network.
