WiFi: Setting Up a Customer Mail Server
This article will guide users through the process of setting up a custom mail server from specific mailing domains as certain default setups are unavailable in the device. Setting up these custom SMTPs require users to access the Developer Mode Console (10.99.99.1).
Custom SMTP
- After successfully entering into the Developer Mode Console, navigate to the "Mail Settings" Tab. Once you are prompted for login information, enter "admin" as the username and "password" for the password.
- In the SMTP Server drop-down field, click and select "Use Custom SMTP Server."
- You should now see the default screen for setting up your SMTP Server.
Gmail SMTP
Setting up a Gmail SMTP may be useful for customers who have special network permissions
- In the blank text field under "SMTP Server", users should enter Gmail's SMTP server "smtp.gmail.com."
- In the "Username" field, enter your Gmail username (only the information before @gmail.com).
- Under the Username field, enter your Gmail password in the "Password" field.
- Choose either port 25 or 465 to use for the "Port Number" (only select one).
- Type in your full Gmail email address in the "Mail From Address" field.
- Enter the desired recipient for these emails into the "Send Daily Status Email To" field.
Review your Gmail account security settings and make sure that "Access for less secure apps" is enabled from https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps.
Yahoo SMTP
- In the blank text field under "SMTP Server," users should enter Yahoo's SMTP server "smtp.mail.yahoo.com."
- In the "Username" field, enter your Yahoo username (only the information before @yahoo.com).
- Under the Username field, enter your Yahoo password in the "Password" field.
- Choose either port 465 or 587 to use for the "Port Number" (only select one).
- Type in your full Yahoo email address in the "Mail From Address" field.
- Enter the desired recipient for these emails into the "Send Daily Status Email To" field.
Outlook/Hotmail SMTP
- In the blank text field under "SMTP Server," users should enter in Outlook SMTP server "smtp.live.com."
- In the "Username" field, enter your username (only the information before @hotmail.com/@outlook.com).
- Under the Username field, enter your password in the "Password" field.
- Choose either port 25 or 465 to use for the "Port Number" (only select one).
- Type your full email address in the "Mail From Address" field.
- Enter the desired recipient for these emails into the "Send Daily Status Email To" field.
Exchange SMTP
- In the blank text field under "SMTP Server", users should enter your organization's Exchange server.
- For Exchange, we recommend trying to send the email without using a username or password.
- Choose port 25 to use for the "Port Number."
- Type your full email address in the "Mail From Address" field.
- Enter the desired recipient for these emails into the "Send Daily Status Email To" field.
