How to Configure a Temperature or Humidity Alarm
Note: You can disable and then re-enable an alarm by selecting the TOGGLE SWITCH at the top of the alarm card or by disabling within ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT / ASSET MANAGEMENT and then selecting the ELLIPSIS (three dots) in the right-hand column of the Asset table.
-
Hover over the ADMIN tab and select ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT.
-
Select the ASSET ALARMS tab then click + NEW ASSET ALARM.
-
You should now be on the Configure new alarm page. Start by filling out the fields under the CREATE NEW ALARM IN section. Under the CREATE NEW ALARM IN field, select an available location from the dropdown. Next, select an ASSET (or leave this field blank) and assign TAGS (or leave this field blank).
-
The next section you will need to complete is ALARM SETTINGS. Create a unique ALARM NAME then select the ALARM TYPE (temperature or humidity). For the THRESHOLD field, you will need to input the appropriate threshold.
Once the alarm is created and saved, the current reading display is updated to include options for blue and red text:-
A grey-colored value in the current reading column indicates that the reading is within the assigned alarm threshold
-
A blue-colored value in the current reading column indicates that the reading is below the assigned alarm threshold
-
A red-colored value in the current reading column indicates that the reading is above the assigned alarm threshold
-
-
In the SEVERITY field, selecting HIGH or HIGHEST will ensure that any incidents created from this alarm will appear on your Dashboard.
-
The next section you will see on this page is ACKNOWLEDGEMENT CHECKLIST. Click the dropdown and choose one of the available checklists (if you do not see any checklists, please review this article to learn how to create a checklist).
-
NOTIFICATION SETTINGS is the next section your will see. Under the NOTIFICATION FREQUENCY field, select how often you would like a notification to send. In the ALARM DELAY field, set the number of intervals that must be out of range before triggering the alarm.
For the ROLE, choose who will receive notifications for the alarm then fill out the DELAY INTERVAL, CONTACT METHOD, and SEND NOTIFICATION fields (the checkbox for NOTIFY WHEN ALARM IS CLOSED is optional). -
Under ADDITIONAL SETTINGS, you can select the optional checkboxes STOP NOTIFICATIONS AFTER INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED or AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE INCIDENTS AFTER RESOLVING.
-
Finally, click the SAVE button in the bottom right corner to create the alarm.
