How to Assign Gateways
You can assign gateways to any location or department within your account hierarchy. Assigning gateways is helpful so you can create gateway alarms that notify your team in case of power failures, missed reports, etc.
Assigning Gateways Under System Management
- Hover over the ADMIN tab then select SYSTEM MANAGEMENT.
- On the System Management page, you can view all your assigned/unassigned sensors and gateways. Click on the UNASSIGNED GATEWAYS tab.

Here you will see a list of existing gateways that appear in your account but have not been assigned to a location or department. Information such as the Device ID, Device Type, etc. will be available to view. Locate the gateway you would like to assign and hover over that row.

Click on the ASSIGN button on the far right.
- A modal window will appear. In the LOCATION/DEPARTMENT field, select an option from the dropdown. In the GATEWAY NAME field, enter a unique name for the gateway to easily identify it.
- Select SAVE to complete the gateway assignment.
Assigning Gateways Under Organization Management
- Hover over the ADMIN tab then select ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT.

On the Organization Management page, select the HIERARCHY tab. Expand the organization to view available locations and departments.
- Identify the location/department where you would like to assign the gateway, hover over that row, then select the ELLIPSIS (three dots) to the far right and select EDIT LOCATION (or EDIT DEPARTMENT).

Scroll to the bottom of the screen until you see the GATEWAY SECTION then select + ADD GATEWAY. Two fields will appear: NAME and DEVICE ID. Enter a unique name for your gateway then click on the dropdown and select an available Device ID.
- Select SAVE to complete the gateway assignment.
