Digi FreshTemp: Troubleshooting Probe RT Pairing

There are certain situations that will cause pairing issues with the SmartSense Probe RT:

  • Newly installed app on a device causing issues
  • App update available
  • Occasionally a replacement probe scenario

This guide will help troubleshoot issues with the SmartSense Probe RT not pairing to a device

  • Note: the Probe RT pairs with the actual HACCP application, not the tablet

Troubleshooting

  1. Make sure the Probe RT is selected
    • Login to the FreshTemp app
    • Tap your location
    • Tap your name from the user list
    • Tap the Menu button to dropdown a list of options
    • Tap Account
    • Tap Settings
    • Ensure the Probe RT is selected
    • If not, select the Probe RT type by tapping the image
  2. Make sure the location permissions are set
    • Tap Request Permissions from the dropdown menu
    • If permissions are not set, one or all of these popups will appear
    • Make sure to tap ALLOW on all of the popups
  3. Make sure you've properly paired your probe
    • Press the ACTION button to turn the probe on
      • Note: The light will blink blue
    • Tap Bluetooth from the dropdown menu
    • Tap the bar that reads SMART PROBE LE

    • A screen should appear with a temperature
    • The light on your probe should be blinking green
    • Your probe is now connected to the FreshTemp app
  4. If you still cannot pair your SmartSense Probe RT to the FreshTemp app, please contact SmartSense Support
